Shot in Carmel and on the sets of Flags of Our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima, this is an intimate film portrait of the maverick star-producer-director who blazed his own trail while perpetuating the classic tradition of John Ford, Raoul Walsh and William Wellman.
